Operates computer-controlled laser machines to cut patterns and/or parts from sheet metal producing customer parts from raw material in accordance with job specific work orders and inspection cards.

This classification may include various general laborer functions such as plug, assembly, finishing, punch press, grinding, running robots and running various machinery. Responsibilities may include loading, moving materials, assisting in loading machines, positioning work, setting up jobs, making adjustments or operating machines, final assembly operations plugging, visual inspections. Performs hand operations, such as filing, de-burring, cleaning, disc grinding, palletizing, banding, folding, etc. Uses torque wrench and hand tools as needed.

You will be responsible for preparing metal for weld operations per customer specifications, drawings, and instructions from engineering. Primary duty is performing welding operations on various customer products using manual and/or robotic welding equipment.

This position will be responsible for loading and unloading the paint line.
The Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) is responsible for Inspection of all welded parts for quality assurance and applicable AWS codes and customer specifications. The CWI will assist quality and Weld engineers with weld issues and perform weld qualifications to applicable requirements, and assist operators with Weld issues. CWI does all new hire training for welders on weld defect identification. The CWI will drive to customer locations to assist in QA issues, requiring the CWI to carry and sort welded production parts.

Performs plant-level safety and environmental compliance duties under limited supervision. Acts as liaison to applicable federal, state and local agencies for assigned facility. Implements Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs to protect employees and reduce risk to the company. Partners with plant leadership to proactively implement preventative measures to reduce the overall risk of injury and environmental concerns. Investigates EHS incidents to identify root cause and corrective actions.
As an employee/owner at MEC, you will Sand, grind metal parts to achieve finish ready for painting, plating and as-required by the customer.Use tools such as Dual Action (DA) sander, grinder (4”, 7”, hard and soft backing pads), abrasive cut-off wheel, plasma cutter, wire brush (bench and hand), belt sander to perform sanding, grinding and cutting operations in compliance with drawings (prints) to complete the operation of metal finishing during the manufacture parts.Handle parts by hand and with a hoist to move from in-load to the work table to out-load.

Our team is growing and we're looking to add Material Handlers to our brand new Hazel Park facility!
As a Material Handler, you will transport incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas as assigned. Operate forklift, electrical hoist or other power driven equipment to load or move materials. Supply production area with needed materials from inventory. Load or unload material onto or from pallets, trays, or shelves. Process required paperwork using RF (Radio Frequency) system when/where available. Performs preventive maintenance such as: daily vehicle inspection, recharging batteries, or replacing liquefied propane gas (LP) tank.
This person is expected to promote a team atmosphere necessary to get the job done efficiently and effectively. Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in the department as necessary. Works with production Supervisors, Production Support Coordinator’s & Inventory Control to make effective changes in Systems and Procedures.
