Transport incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas as assigned. Operate forklift, electrical hoist or other power driven equipment to load or move materials. Supply production area with needed materials from inventory. Load or unload material onto or from pallets, trays, or shelves. Process required paperwork using RF (Radio Frequency) system when/where available. Performs preventive maintenance such as: daily vehicle inspection, recharging batteries, or replacing liquefied propane gas (LP) tank.
This person is expected to promote a team atmosphere necessary to get the job done efficiently and effectively. Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes in the department as necessary. Works with production Supervisors, Production Support Coordinator’s & Inventory Control to make effective changes in Systems and Procedures.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include meeting production requirements, on-time shipments, quality, safety and housekeeping.
The Quality Manager will lead and support the activities of the Plant Manager in the development and improvement of MEC Quality Management system; which at a minimum will meet the requirements of ISO9001:2008 and IATF TS16949. Responsibilities will be to plan, develop, implement, train and assess the effectiveness of MEC’s quality systems to improve internal and outgoing product quality that will achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction. This position
will be required to interact with all functional areas in the company to assure seamless processes are in place that are effective and efficient to meet the quality standards and expectations set by the customer. This position will develop quality metrics to access and assure processes are not only in compliance but also functioning as planned. Takes an active role in identifying quality issues, non-conformances and leads corrective action of those issues insuring that quality meets or exceeds customer requirements. The individual will be able to effectively analyze data and drive issues to root cause. Must be proficient in using excel and/or Minitab. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus. Individual will also be responsible for the audit function and leads efforts to achieve compliance with any new quality standards that new and existing customers require. Will lead all internal and external audits to ensure compliance to IATF TS16949 standards. Must be knowledgeable on the IATF standards and have worked with Registrars. Will support ISO 14001 audits and ensure compliance to standard. Will lead and directs Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers. Will lead quarterly quality management reviews at the plant. Must be able to work directly with customers and present quality data, describe root causes, understand our manufacturing processes and communicate effective plans. Responsible for initiating corrective actions(CAR’s) both internally and externally for our suppliers. Must be able to work effectively across cross functional teams and support the Advanced Product Quality Planning(APQP) process.
Develop, recommend and implement continuous improvement strategies designed to reduce cost, eliminate product / process variability and achieve measurable increases in manufacturing margins, quality, productivity, safety, and related operational/ customer satisfaction performance measures. Reviews and compiles data involving production performance, rework, scrap, KPI metrics and value stream mapping.
Setup, adjust and operate all sizes of press brakes to perform a wide variety of forming, notching, bending, and punch operations on a diversified line of work. Ability to determine proper dies, setups of dies, setup of gauges, and adjustment of ram stroke to from all types of parts to proper angle and length without the use of work instruction. Ability to determine forming sequence of multiple hit parts without the use of work instruction. Capable of writing work instruction once part setup has been established. Work from drawings, patterns, templates, and specifications. Use vernier, protractor, indicator, radii gauges, etc. Proceed with minimum supervision and instruction.
Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. Primary responsibility is to MIG and/or TIG weld.
