Our growing company is seeking to hire a 1st Shift Punch Press Production Lead at our Vanderbilt South location. You will be effectively making plans and implementing work for assigned production department ensuring parts or materials and manpower are available for the department to perform the work. Requires knowledge, skill and ability to perform and fill in for any position in the department and can perform equipment setup.
Find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes. Devise efficient ways to use workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make products in a Contract Manufacturing environment.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include meeting production requirements, on-time shipments, quality, safety and housekeeping.

SUMMARY
Set-up, adjust and operate multiple CNC, laser systems to produce parts in accordance with instructions. Set and adjust cutting speeds and optics to ensure proper operation. May make adjustments to programs as authorized.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads job order to determine machine programming requirements.
- Sets up machine parameters and power settings.
- Calls up part number from computer to program machine.
- Puts steel into machine to cut part.
- Checks to print using various measuring devices to determine accuracy of part.
- Perform part verifications.
- Performs routine machine maintenance.
- Performs simple laser programming.
- Troubleshoots problems and adjusts machine as necessary to correct.
- Assist Steel Shed Coordinator with unloading & receiving material.
- Assist Steel Shed Coordinator with on-line ordering of material.
- Instruct laser take off operators.
- Assists with scheduling of nests.
- Schedules machine maintenance with Maintenance Department.
- Cross train Laser take-off and Laser Operator II employees as assigned by Supervisor.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 to 3 years related experience and/or computer (MAZAK) training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read blueprints. Ability to use measuring equipment such as vernier, micrometer, etc. Knowledge of computer.

SUMMARY
As an employee/owner at MEC, you will Set-up, adjust and operate several production machine tools where tooling, setup detail and operating procedures are standardized and obvious- or operate and maintain setups on special purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences. Generally close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to nature of tooling and machine setups. Work usually repetitive and subject to process inspection. May be required to read part drawings and use adjustable, direct reading and fixed gauges to check work. Requires a fundamental knowledge of machine shop operations as acquired by short job training and experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training is preferred. Experience with air feed, roll feed, and secondary operations, and the ability to do fast setups within the department is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English. Ability to write routing reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups.

The Purchasing Coordinator supports production in the following areas: Purchase order management, forecast management, and communication with suppliers, planners and Engineering to ensure material availability along with timely delivery. The Purchasing Coordinator will purchase production materials and supplies by performing the following duties:
SUMMARY
Expert trouble shooter and equipment repair person for all types of plant/production electrical and mechanical equipment. This level of work requires education and experience with all types of electrical and mechanical service skills. Teaches and/or advises others about how or what to do to make repairs. Work from complicated drawings and specifications. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments for exacting measurements. Must have experience programming robotic welders, PLCs and other forms of industrial automation.
