Overview

We seeking to hire a Production Planner for our team in Wayland, MI.  

 

In this role you may be responsible for entering and processing orders, researching customer issues, preparing correspondence, and fulfilling customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.  The planner must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  The Planner reports to the Materials Manager.

Responsibilities

Required Skills

    • Correspond directly with customers, Follow-up on customer interactions on daily needs
    • Respond promptly to customer inquiries
    • Reviews and evaluates forecasts received via EDI/E-mail
    • Enters sales orders and acknowledges ship dates, as required
    • Monitor MOQ amounts as well as peaks and valleys in production demands ensuring Materials Manager has necessary data to communicate back to plant management and sales.
    • Enter and process purchase orders when needed
    • Communicate and coordinate with MEC’s internal departments, scheduling, shipping
    • Effectively negotiate customer dates on “drop in” based off of SOP
    • Entering and modifying customer orders when needed
    • Finding information on past shipments, locating BOL/ASN numbers for shipments
    • Updating parameters in CMS (as long as they follow the rules set forth by the Materials Manager)
    • Maintains delivery performance metric
    • Notifies customer in the event of failures in meeting shipping schedules. Works with customers to prevent line down situations at customers.
    • Works closely with engineering to implement engineering changes and monitors structure (bill of material) problems
    • Review/understand/distribute the 6-day load tool
    • Coordinates scheduled shipments with the shipping department
    • Lead Time violation data collection---Controlled Chaos
