What it takes to be a SHIPPING & RECEIVING COORIDNATOR at MEC:
- Certified forklift operator
- Have or the ability to obtain class A CDL
- Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds
- Ability to train, communicate, and work with others
- Displays ethical behavior and acts with integrity
- Reliability
What you will be doing as a SHIPPING & RECEIVING COORDINATOR:
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items outgoing or incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing slips, address labels and other records.
- Determines method of shipment.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Secures product to pallets using stretch wrap or metal banding.
- Stamps, stencils or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Operates powered lift truck or hand truck to load outgoing freight onto trucks.
- Performs all necessary computer transactions.
- Operates weight scale and digital counter.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Routes items to departments.
- Maintains inventory of receiving materials and supplies.
- Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags or labels.
- Other duties as assigned
