Overview

Works directly with associates, assigning and coordinating jobs within the departments to produce quality parts. Must be willing to cover temporary vacancies within the department when needed. Will work production while monitoring the 2nd shift production needs.

Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary.

  • Responsible for following all safety rules and reporting any safety violations to the supervisor. When able correct the safety violation immediately.
  • Communicate and assign jobs and tasks to 2nd shift associates, based on production dispatch.
  • Ensure productivity, rate attainment, quality standards and production schedules are met.
  • Make sure appropriate paperwork and charts are being properly filled out, to ensure effective process tracking, supporting Quality and continuous improvement efforts.
  • See that effective housekeeping activities are being performed by the team, supporting company 5S objectives.
  • Understand the functions of each position.
  • Perform and coordinate inspection and quality control activities and perform hands-on work related to activities in the department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) combined with one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.           

MATH ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole number.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
