Overview

 

Do you have experience working with Laser cutting machines? Are you mechanically inclined?  You came to the right place if you answered yes. You will be responsible for set-up, adjusting and operating our CNC Tube Laser to produce parts in accordance with instructions.  Set and adjust cutting speeds and optics to ensure proper operation. 

Don't have laser experience? We need someone who can think outside the box and troubleshoot and we'll train you on what to look for. This role can lead to multiple internal promotion opportunities as well! 

 

Pay Range - $18-$22/hour  

 

A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:

 

  • Reads job order to determine machine programming requirements.
  • Sets up machine parameters and power settings.
  • Calls up part number from computer to program machine.
  • Puts steel into machine to cut part.
  • Checks to print using various measuring devices to determine accuracy of part.
  • Perform part verifications.
  • Performs routine machine maintenance.
  • Performs simple laser programming. (Most programs are already created and we do have someone in-house that creates all programs as well!)
  • Troubleshoots problems and adjusts machine as necessary to correct.
  • Assist Material Handler with unloading & receiving material.
  • Schedules machine maintenance with Maintenance Department.
  • Additional duties assigned.

What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?

  • Having laser experience is preferred.
  • Ability to understand work orders and follow instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow at MEC safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to left up to 50 lbs at a time. This position involves alot of bending, twisting and lifting.
