Our Neillsville location offers an on-site Nurse for all staff and a tele-doc option for those on our health insurance. 

 

What does it look like to be a  Production Operator? As an employee at MEC, you will set-up, adjust and operate several production machine tools where tooling, setup detail and operating procedures are standardized and obvious- or operate and maintain setups on special purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences. 

 

A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:

 

  • Selects and aligns dies in press according to specifications.
  • Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
  • Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction. 
  • Regulates air pressure and oil pressure.
  • Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.
  • Generally close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to nature of tooling and machine setups. 
  • Work usually repetitive and subject to process inspection. 
  • May be required to read part drawings and use adjustable, direct reading and fixed gauges to check work. 
  • Packages parts in appropriate containers.
  • Cleans and lubricates machines.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?

  • One-three months of related experience is preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Requires a fundamental knowledge of machine shop operations as acquired by short job training and experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow at MEC safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to left up to 50 lbs. at a time. This position involves a lot of bending, twisting and lifting.
