Maintenance Manager

Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment to ensure safety and quality standards are met. 

1. Ensures that equipment is on the preventative maintenance program, schedules are valid, thorough, and completed according to the system schedule.  
2. Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedures, inspection and maintenance of equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations.  
3. Programs, troubleshoots, and maintains PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and other forms of industrial automation. 
4. Plans, coordinates, and schedules all predictive and preventative maintenance programs for structures, utilities, and equipment.  
5. Provides technical support to other departments regarding process and/or equipment changes.  
6. Installs wiring circuits, switches, controls, and other electronic devices in accordance with specifications.  
7. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and makes necessary repairs in a timely fashion to reduce downtime. 
8. Management of spare parts, material, and inventories. 
9. Identifies areas where operations can be improved and made more efficient. Carries out solutions to repair or upgrade equipment for improved operations. 
10. Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines. 
11. Practices lock out/tag out safety procedures and utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adheres to all safety and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines. 
12. Perform all other maintenance manager duties and responsibilities.

Job Skills Requirements 

• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.  

• Strong knowledge of electromechanical codes, standards, and safety practices.  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality workmanship.  

• Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.  

• Advance knowledge of pneumatic, wiring, and hydraulic systems. 

Educational Requirements 

• High School Diploma or equivalent education. 

Experience Requirements 

• 5 to 10 years professional maintenance experience in the manufacturing industry.  

Physical & Environmental Requirements 

• Some physical demand. Often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.     

• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).     

• Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).     

• Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).     

• May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).   

• Assists Plant Manager in off-hours maintenance calls as needed.
