Responsibilities

 

Job Description

MEC, Inc. is currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for Atkins, VA location.  And in this position the top candidate will be responsible for notifying Manufacturing Engineers of any process improvements being addressed on the floor and to deviate or alert accordingly.  Assists in the running of sample parts and new job launches by following the parts through their departments.  Makes the manufacturing floor aware of product specifications as well as placing materials in quarantine for review by appropriate departments.  Runs capability studies and fills out all appropriate documentation.  Responsible to review all quotes and validates the validity of the quotes with the manufacturing process to ensure all quotes with the manufacturing process to ensure all quotes have the proper methods, and costs prior to submitting to the customer.  Responsible for inputting all structures, routers, BOM’s and pricing on new jobs and all jobs without methods.  Responsible to manage all structures for the manufacturing facility; performs costing studies on jobs to ensure that we are at the quoted costs.  Makes recommendation on improvements needed to bring financial into line with quotes or works with management on necessary pricing changes.  Responsible for programming and editing all CNC programs as well as maintaining the files for the engineering department.  This position will handle all ECN’s updates with validation on first parts after edits are complete.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook including 3-D CAD systems, GD&T and typical drafting standards
  • Skilled in project management with cross functional teams; meeting facilitation
  • Able to understand the full scope and impact of assigned initiatives; full understanding of metal forming and assembly operations including MIG and resistant welding, coil fed progressive stamping, line dies, e-coating, powder coating, tube bending, cutting and forming
  • Communicates effectively with various organizational levels
  • Must be able to travel

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3-7 years’ work experience in field or related area
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
