We’re so glad you are interested in the Network Support Technician role based out of our Mayville, WI location. As a team member/owner at MEC, you will responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Perform regular maintenance, evaluation, installation to ensure LAN performance meets company and user requirements. This role will plan, manage and support day-to-day network activities.

A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:


  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Installs wires and troubleshoots computer terminal systems, P.C. LAN systems, telephone systems, public address systems, data collection systems, video equipment and FM 2-way radio systems.
  • Reads blueprints, electrical and electronic schematics (knows symbols).
  • Must be able to layout and install conduit, wiring devices and raceways for communications wiring needs including fiber optic cabling.
  • Maintains an advanced and current level of technical knowledge and skills involving network, implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Install computer peripherals for end users and follow up to ensure the issue has been resolved.
  • Work closely with the team to assist with and maintain stable, reliable technology environment.
  • Have regular telephone contacts with co-workers, supervisors, consultants and suppliers regarding technology needs and issues.
  • Assist with integrating ethernet enabled machinery with internal systems.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring, fire protection and climate control.


What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or related work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience within Information Technology.
  • Have the ability to drive to other MEC locations within Wisconsin. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Travel up to 25% of your time.
  • Must have basic knowledge for personal computers hardware, software, operating systems and peripherals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and working with management
