    Our growing company is seeking to hire a Production Supervisor for our Welding department at our Mayville, Wisconsin facility.  This is an incredible opportunity to work with a world class team! 


    In this role, you will report to the Weld Production Manager provide leadership over the weld department and team.  This is a great position for a change agent who has passion for leading and developing a team of welders. MEC’s Production Supervisor will take an active role in leading the activities of the weld department activities that meet and exceed our customer requirements and quality standards.


    A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:



    • Responsible for leading a team of welders to ensure all employees are achieving production goals and quality standards


    • Responsible for scheduling, training and maintain training records for all employees in the department.


    • Coach and develop all employees within the department


    • Advises production manager of process improvement ideas, production issues, maintenance items, safety matters, and other information


    • Distributes supplies, takes inventory, and initiates reorder as needed

    What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?

    Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have a minimum of an associate degree in a related field and 5 - 7 years of supervisory background in a contract manufacturing environment.  Experience with metal fabrication, welding, assembly, along with experience with quality improvement tools (Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is also required.  It would be great if you had professional certifications (CWI) Since you will be leading people in this role, you will need to be a great leader with solid communication, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop and motivate a team.
