  • Overview

    This position assists the MEC Shooting Sports Divison with execution of the marketing and brand management initiatives including: websites and social media, newsletters, business cards, Powerpoint presentations, trade shows and events, and apparel/promotional give-aways.

    Responsibilities

    • Posting news and related items to website and social media to ensure our online media is up-to-date.
    • Assist with the development and distribution of news releases and other external and internal communications.
    • Draft the newsletters and work with the Director to complete the content.  Distribute the approved newsletters in a timely fashion.
    • Handle business card requests, order, approve proofs and distribute the cards to the appropriate facilities.
    • Assist MEC’s facilities with marketing-related items and engage with the Manager for support when needed.
    • Manage the online ‘MEC-ware’ apparel and promotional items store.  Proactively work with the Manager and V.P. to properly support the sales team with promotional items as needed.
    • Assist the Manager and the sales team with putting together best-in-class presentations as needed.
    • Help organize trade shows, events and meetings to support our sales and marketing efforts.
    • Assist with market research when needed to develop solid market intelligence for our business.
    • Arranges detailed travel plans and itineraries.
    • Types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc.  Proofreads copies for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes.
    • Acts as a liaison with other departments, facilities and customers.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE  Administrative Assistant – Associate’s Degree along with a minimum of 5 years related experience.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS  Ability to read and interpret documents such as, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to effectively communicate with other employees.

     

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, including metric units.

     

    REASONING ABILITY  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS  Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentations software.  Basic working knowledge of Photoshop preferred.
