  • Overview

    Directs the Materials Management and Accuracy Team consisting of Inventory Control, Production Planning, Shipping/Receiving, and Material Handlers to maximize customer requirements by performing the following duties.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    Manage material transactions from receiving to shipping.

     

    Develop and execute practices regarding material planning, inventory management and cycle counting.

     

    Plan and schedule material flow to ensure appropriate warehousing and distribution of raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods.

     

    Manage and maintain an accurate inventory database.

     

    Develop and maintain a system of accountability for obsolete and nonconforming materials.

     

    Responsible for effectively planning, directing, and executing the activities of the Materials Team using a systems and database approach to meet the needs of the business.

     

    Identify, plan, and implement activities designed to reduce costs while improving quality, safety, and delivery methods.

     

    Manage production support functions relating to BOM/Routing configuration and maintenance, sample job and/or first article releases, as well as, CI activities related to specific processes.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field, plus a minimum of 5 years experience in production control/materials management discipline. Extensive knowledge of world class manufacturing processes such as: Kanban, MRP, JIT, and Lean Manufacturing experience.
