The Quality Assurance CMM Programmer provides support to manufacturing operations or Quality Engineering by tests and / or inspection of products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates collected data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned as necessary by the Quality Manager or their designate.
Responsible for creating PCMM (Portable Computer Measurement Machine) programs for FARO & Romer arms using PolyWorks software.
Interprets engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), or standards in order to inspect or test product throughout the manufacturing processes to determine if it is fit for conformance or customer requirements.
Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
Records test data, applying statistical process control procedures where applicable.
Documents reports to validate or identify details for deviations from existing standards, where and when required.
Prepares graphs or charts of data and enters data into computer for analysis.
Programs and operates PCMM as well as utilizing various types of measurement equipment required to evaluate product conformance (i.e. Calipers, Micrometers, surface finish analyzers, hardness tester, and other conventional measurement equipment.
Secondary Duties will include - calibrates inspection equipment as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred but not required; five years experience in manufacturing or engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to the degree necessary.
Ability to determine product status based on test & inspection results.
Must have or be willing to learn: Statistical Process Control (SPC) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Measurement Techniques (Metrology) Computer Application basics (Windows, Spreadsheets, etc.) Coordinate Measuring Machine applications (CMM) programming and ability to work with people (Team Player)
