Job Description


MEC, Inc. is currently looking for a Production Planner for Greenwood, SC location.  And in this position the top candidate will support production in sales order management, forecast management, customer interface and work order maintenance.  In this position individual will enter sales orders and acknowledges ship dates; monitors pricing on in-coming to ensure they match quotes to avoid short pays; revises schedules and issues work orders to suit order changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts; determines revised plan in the event of failure to meet schedules; notifies customer in the event of failures in meeting shipping schedules including working with customers to prevent line down situations; follows up on customer requests for information on shipments; coordinates scheduled shipments with the shipping department; reviews and evaluates forecasts received via EDI, fax, mail, etc.; researches late parts, identifies and brings bottlenecks to manufacturing’s attention; works closely with engineering to implement engineering changes plus monitors structure bill of material problems; and expedites, as needed, any late deliveries from outside vendors, sub-contract, etc.

Required Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar related field
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience; APICS Certification preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without assistance
