Overview

General housekeeping responsibilities including hauling garbage, painting and cleaning.  Construct racking & build 1-high containers as needed.  Light maintenance on machinery & buildings.  Back and/or assist Janitorial Staff.  Assist Maintenance Staff as  required.  May be required to assist in production departments as needed.  Must be able to become certified & operate forklifts, man lifts & hold a valid

WI driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.

 

Packages parts in appropriate containers.

 

Cleans and lubricates machines.

 

Operates machines such as shears, cut off saws, brakes, punch press, roll former and drill press to cut and shape components to specified dimensions.

 

Using welding fixtures and jigs where applicable.

 

Works from blueprints & job layouts.

 

Uses rule, square, templates, vernier & gauges.

 

Operates forklifts, Raymond reach trucks and Ariel Work Platforms (MEC certification required).

 

Supplies production departments with assorted container or pallets.

 

Moves, relocates and erects materials storage racking.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (HSED). One to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.  Experience with air feed, roll feed, and secondary operations, and the ability to do fast setups within the department is preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English.  Ability to write routing reports and correspondence in English.  Ability to speak effectively in English before groups.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to understand and convert to metric.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
